Bank of America was founded in 1998. Despite the name, now the bank operates not only in America, being a global financial holding with more than 6,000 branches around the world. In terms of total assets, BOA ranks 3rd among American companies in the financial industry, and it only 2d after JPMorgan Chase & Co. among banks.
