Kamada Confirms KedRAB Supply As U.S. Rabies Exposures Increase

(RTTNews) - Kamada Ltd. (KMDA; KMDA.TA) confirmed that it maintains sufficient inventory and manufacturing capacity to meet increased U.S. demand for KedRAB, following a September 10, 2026 Health Advisory from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reporting a significant year-over-year increase in human rabies exposures and rabies post-exposure prophylaxis utilization.

The CDC advisory highlighted a nationwide increase in rabies exposures and the use of rabies immunoglobulin as part of post-exposure prophylaxis, increasing demand for anti-rabies immunoglobulin products in the United States.

KedRAB is a human rabies immune globulin developed and manufactured by Kamada and is one of only two FDA-approved anti-rabies immunoglobulin products indicated for post-exposure prophylaxis in the U.S.

The product is supplied to the U.S. market through Kamada's commercialization partner, Kedrion Biopharma Inc.

Kamada said its available inventory and manufacturing capacity are positioned to support continued and uninterrupted KedRAB supply as utilization increases.

The company also cited its vertically integrated supply chain, long-standing partnership with Kedrion and the recent FDA approval of its in-house rabies testing laboratory as factors supporting its ability to respond to increased demand.

Rabies is a viral disease that attacks the brain and nervous system of mammals, including humans, and is almost invariably fatal once clinical symptoms develop.

The CDC estimates that approximately 1.4 million people in the U.S. seek medical care each year following possible rabies exposure, with approximately 100,000 people receiving post-exposure prophylaxis.

Kamada estimates that the total U.S. market for rabies immunoglobulin products is approximately $200 million annually.

KedRAB is indicated for passive, transient post-exposure prophylaxis of rabies infection in people of all ages following contact with a rabid or potentially rabid animal.

The product is administered concurrently with a full course of rabies vaccine.

Kamada said its commercial portfolio includes six FDA-approved specialty plasma-derived products, including KedRAB, GLASSIA, CYTOGAM, VARIZIG, WINRHO SDF and HEPAGAM B, as well as KAMRAB and two equine-based anti-snake venom products.

The company operates three FDA-approved plasma collection centers in Beaumont, Houston and San Antonio, Texas, supporting its plasma collection and specialty plasma-derived therapies businesses.

Kamada's strategy includes expanding its commercial portfolio, growing plasma collection operations, pursuing third-party pharmaceutical distribution partnerships and evaluating mergers, acquisitions, licensing and collaboration opportunities.

KMDA.TA has traded between ILA 69.51 and ILA 110.68 over the past year. The stock is trading at ILA 2,517, up 0.92%.
