Wall Street is still trying to determine the winners and losers in the fallout of China’s DeepSeek, which gained attention recently for a new artificial-intelligence model that it said it was able to train cheaply with a limited number of graphics processing units.

OpenAI seems, to some people, like one of the losers, as DeepSeek’s progress suggests that large language models could become a commodity.
