In early trading on Friday, shares of Alphabet (GOOGL) topped the list of the day's best performing components of the Nasdaq 100 index, trading up 10.9%. Year to date, Alphabet registers a 23.8% gain.

And the worst performing Nasdaq 100 component thus far on the day is Intel Corp (INTC), trading down 12.4%. Intel Corp is lower by about 38.8% looking at the year to date performance.

Two other components making moves today are Atlassian Corp (TEAM), trading down 10.1%, and Alphabet (GOOG), trading up 10.7% on the day.
