ThredUp (TDUP) Reports Q1 Loss, Misses Revenue Estimates

ThredUp (TDUP) came out with a quarterly loss of $0.15 per share versus the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of $0.14. This compares to loss of $0.19 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of -7.14%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this online seller of secondhand clothing would post a loss of $0.13 per share when it actually produced a loss of $0.14, delivering a surprise of -7.69%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates just once.

ThredUp, which belongs to the Zacks Consumer Products - Staples industry, posted revenues of $79.59 million for the quarter ended March 2024, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 0.86%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $75.92 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates two times over the last four quarters.

The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call.

ThredUp shares have lost about 20% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's gain of 7.5%.

Village Farms' revenues are expected to be $72.51 million, up 12.2% from the year-ago quarter.
