Why the Market Dipped But Altria (MO) Gained Today

The most recent trading session ended with Altria (MO) standing at $49.80, reflecting a +0.77% shift from the previouse trading day's closing. The stock outperformed the S&P 500, which registered a daily loss of 0.51%. Elsewhere, the Dow saw an upswing of 0.2%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq depreciated by 0.93%.

The owner of Philip Morris USA, the nation's largest cigarette maker's shares have seen an increase of 6.6% over the last month, surpassing the Consumer Staples sector's gain of 0.13% and the S&P 500's loss of 0.26%.
